Foreclosures or bank owned properties are much easier to purchase. Typically you can get a response from an offer within a few days. Short sales can take months for a response. Banks do not work quickly to expedite the sale of a short sale. If you need a home quickly don't bother looking at short sales. There is no way to speed the process up.
