The real estate on the island is made up of homes, condos, hotels, and commercial property in St. Armands Circle. Some of the most amazing and sought after homes are located in the Lido Shores water front community. Lido Key is located just west of downtown Sarasota over the John Ringling Bridge. You can also reach the island from Longboat Key to the north. Although, this is one of Sarasota’s smaller barrier island it offers so much to do and enjoy. Not only is a great place to go to the beach but it offers the fun destination spot of St. Armands Circle. “The Circle” as the locals call it is filled with classy shops, boutiques, fine and casual outdoor dining, ice cream shops, a day spa, art galleries and coffee shops. It has a laid back yet elegant ambiance that accommodates to all walks of life. Your shopping experience is enhanced by paver walkways, grassy park like settings, palm trees, tropical plants and flowering bushes that St. Armands Circle provides.
Lido Key Beaches
The main beach on Lido Key is just west of St. Armands Circle. The beach is deep and wide and runs north to the New Pass which is the waterway between Lido Key and Longboat Key and south to Big Pass which is the waterway between Siesta Key and Lido Key. Lido Key public beach offers a pavilion, swimming pool, lifeguards, showers and restrooms. North Lido Beach id very secluded and has a very natural feel to it. Much of it is a preserve area with no homes or condos. It provides that “Old Florida” feel that many yearn for. The middle of the island is home to several beach front condos. On the south end of Lido Key is the South Lido Park Nature Preserve and provides breathtaking great views Big Pass, Siesta Key, downtown Sarasota skyline and the Gulf of Mexico. The park provides a great place to blow off some steam on the weekends. You can grill out, enjoy the water with friends and family, canoe through the mangroves and picnic among the Australian Pines. Lido Key really is a great place to relax, live and enjoy.
